About us

We believe that all great wines have an amazing story to tell.

What we love about wine is not just the delicious aromas or flavors that a great wine delivers, for us that’s only half of the enjoyment. The other half is the story behind the wine, whether that’s the grape(s), region, producer, or history of that particular wine, we believe that all great wines have an amazing story to tell.

We write about wines which we have the utmost respect for, that are produced responsibly, and represent a true expression of the terroir and grape(s). We provide tasting notes, but do not score wines on a point based system. We created this site, because we believe that in order to truly appreciate a wine to its fullest, it’s important to know the story behind that wine, and we hope to share that story with our readers.

This website allows us to share with readers the story behind each wine, as well as provide a more in depth look at the wines we taste.

Dosage Wine was created by husband and wife team Dillon and Sasha, who became interested in wine around 2015. Living on Long Island, we began exploring wineries on the east end, and eventually ended up working at a Long Island winery part-time. Working at the winery, and exploring the wineries of the east end taught us some of the fundamentals of wine tasting and wine production, but more than anything it caused us to become increasingly interested in the world of wine. Soon we began reading books and articles, watching interviews, listening to podcasts, and travelling a couple of times a year to some of the great wine regions of the world. Along the way, we learned a lot, and formed some amazing friendships with other wine enthusiasts like ourselves, as well as professionals who work in the wine industry. Nearly everyday we’re reading, listening, watching, or tasting something new. We’re not professional critics or tasters, and we don’t pretend to be, we don’t hold any sort of formal degrees or certifications in wine, we just have a tremendous passion and respect for the world of wine, and we hope our readers enjoy what we have to share.

A bit about Sasha

Sasha was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States when she was 11 years old. Growing up in Ukraine on a farm in a small village has given her an invaluable gift of experiencing a symbiotic relationship with nature and being one with our beautiful Earth.

Sasha graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a degree in Respiratory Care, and also holds a Masters Degree in Health Education from Lehman College. She works full time as the Director of Respiratory Care at St. Charles Hospital. She absolutely loves her job and finds it extremely rewarding. Outside of work, Sasha loves to cook elaborate meals with Dillon and taste different wines. Her favorite thing about wine is that it’s an experience — every wine has its own story to tell. Sasha wholeheartedly believes that all wine is great wine, anything after that is just personal preference.

A bit about Dillon

A Bit About Dillon.jpg

Dillon is a Long Island native who graduated from Hofstra University in 2013 with a degree in Business Management. He and Sasha met in college, fell in love almost immediately, and went on to get married in 2017. After graduating from college, Dillon worked for several years in the auto-industry, and then left in 2018 to work for Salesforce. Today, he works full-time as a Renewals Manager for Google. Outside of work, Dillon is extremely interested in the world of wine. He loves the grapes and wines of Italy, and is particularly passionate about Piedmont as a wine region. Dillon is constantly pushing himself to learn more about wine, and in the near future would love to enroll in courses for wine and spirits education. Dillon considers himself a major foodie and loves to cook. He loves traveling with his amazing wife, Sasha, and loves visiting the great wine regions of the world. His favorite thing about the world of wine is the people and culture. Meeting with producers, and seeing where some of the world’s greatest wines are produced and grown first hand, has been an unbelievable cultural experience for him that he hopes to do more of in the near future.
